Leo la nota de prensa oficial, donde dice cosas como que

"*Paul Crutzen*, *Mario Molina* and *Sherwood Rowland* have all made 
pioneering contributions to explaining how ozone is formed and 
decomposes through chemical processes in the atmosphere. Most 
importantly, they have in this way showed how sensitive the ozone layer 
is to the influence of anthropogenic emissions of certain compounds."

"Thanks to our good scientific understanding of the ozone problem - and 
very largely to Crutzen, Molina and Rowland - it has been possible to 
make far-reaching decisions on prohibiting the release of gases that 
destroy ozone. "

De modo que Crutzen, Molina y Rowland han sido galardonados por sus 
contribuciones a la química del ozono. Y esas contribuciones han hecho 
posible conocer y atajar el problema del adelgazamiento de la capa de 
ozono. Pues muy bien. Este año el Nobel de física ha sido otorgado a 
Albert Fert y a Peter Grünberg por su descubrimiento de la 
magnetorresistencia gigante. Descubrimiento gracias al cual se han 
inventado los discos duros de tamaño compacto. ¿Crees que les han 
otorgado el Nobel por inventar el disco duro compacto?

No sé, no me parece tan difícil de entender...
